Exercise Ideas for Truckers
Truckers are extremely busy people who have deadlines to meet. That means they have very little time to spare for exercise and eating healthy. But if truckers want to live longer and avoid stroke or heart attacks, it's essential to make time to get some exercise and make smart eating choices.
The easiest way to get some more exercise is to simply walk or jog around the parking lot whenever you make a stop. This is where having a dog as a traveling companion helps, since you can take him or her for a brisk walk. You could also do some stretches and lunges during the downtime.
You could also take some of your own exercise equipment with you. If you enjoy biking, bring a bicycle with you; these days you can find decent bicycles that fold up. You could also bring a set of weights or some Rollerblades if you're feeling really bold. Take some time out of your busy day to use your equipment and get a little cardio exercise.
There are other exercises you can perform as well, ideally suited for those who are always on the road all day. You might want to consult with a physical therapist, who can give you advice and instructions on exercises you can easily do.
If you enjoy golf, you have an advantage as a trucker: You can visit some of the many golf courses in the nation. Golfing is a good way to get exercise, provided that you don't ride in a golf cart. The walking will be good for you.
